Spinshot - Coming soon to Playdate

SpinShot is an arcade block-breaker score-chaser with a spin, made exclusively for Playdate.  Break stuff, collect COINs, score points, and progress through 45 levels across 4 biomes, chasing high scores through precision and maintaining your multipliers.

You play as Ayla, a rookie pilot and her mentor Ferris, as they pilot their Artifact Recovery and Containment vessel (ARC). In the year 2170, energy signatures of unknown origin were detected throughout planets in the Etherveil cluster.  Recon teams on the ground discovered Cyclic Omni-Inertial Nodes (COINs), disc-shaped energy storage devices that can only be unlocked with rare resonant discs.  As corporations raced to industrialise this energy source, ARCs were built to wield these resonant discs and harvest the energy from these COINs.

  • Collect COINs to score points and clear phases and levels
  • Progress through 45 levels across 4 biomes.
  • Collect two or more COINs between ARC hits to increase your multiplier

Spin

A quick flick of the crank just before impact will spin your disc in the opposite direction, giving it a satisfying arc to avoid obstacles or collect multiple coins in a single shot.  A staple tool in your arsenal that's easy to learn and difficult to master.

Magnets

All ARCs come equipped with powerful electromagnets to help control and influence the disc's trajectory. Rookie pilots get this ability shortly after completing their training.

Accessibility

  • This game uses the crank for gameplay, and requires precise, repeated rotations
  • The magnet ability requires holding the A or d-pad up buttons, for comfort or left-handed play.
  • The crank, A and B buttons, and d-pad are used to navigate menus.
  • The Reduce Flashing system function is used to dampen sudden flashes and flickering effects.
  • A game speed setting can increase or reduce the challenge as needed, with no score penalty.
